I gave her this recipe book for Christmas.
Here are the details: I designed the cover with a freebie scrap kit from shabbyprincess.com (as a side note if you would like to learn more about digital scrapbooking visit my friend Alison's blog here) and then I slipped it into a half-sized view binder that I ordered site to store at staples.com. I had trouble finding the half-sheet page protectors so I ordered them online at keepfiling.com. They are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 sized. I ordered $30 worth of products so I would not have to pay shipping...Super Mommies rarely pay for shipping!! I found my recipes at Momsview, Chowhound, and Cdkitchen to name a few. You can download my compiled recipe pages here. I tried to keep them formatted landscape with two columns but I dont know how to preserve that when uploading to google docs. Anyone downloading will have to redo that part, I guess.
The Verdict: She loves it. I had read that the made from scratch recipes wouldn't work because the real mixes have some kind of "plaster" type ingredient but the ones we have tried work great! Her 9 year old brother, Tate helps her read and measure the ingredients and they have a great time baking together.

Thank you so much for sharing this cookbook. My daughter got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas 2 years ago, and she hardly ever uses it because the mixes are so expensive! Now, with this cookbook, she can use it all of the time. She will love it! I found this just in time for Easter. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteGood idea with the Cookbook..I find also that you can use a cake mix from the store as well...You can get alot of cakes with one mix..Also you can use brownie mixes, muffin mixes..Whatever you heart desires..My daughter loved making pizzas with her easy bake..You can also use the small pans in your big oven too..Great blog with awesome ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I can't wait until my daughter gets big enough for an Easy Bake oven. I'd like to link to this post on a future sharing post of mine.
ReplyDeleteawesome
ReplyDeleteMy niece is getting an easy bake for her birthday and of course everyone bought ever pack of food they could find! I was stuck trying to figure out what to get her and this is the perfect idea.....thanks a bunch
ReplyDeleteCan these be used in the small basic easy bake oven? I'd love to make it for my niece. But I don't want to ruin her oven.
ReplyDeleteSuper mom?
ReplyDeleteHey, just wanted to say thanks for complying this - I am giving my twin girls an easy bake oven for christmas and am grateful for your legwork so I can do other things. I can't wait to print it.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter can't wait to try these out. :) By the way, I thought you might want to know that your cookbook has been reposted over on http://teachingjunkie.blogspot.ca/2012/01/easy-bake-oven-recipes.html, complete with her logo at the bottom of the last page. I only skimmed through it, but it appears to be an exact copy of yours, including your tips and comments. I found it when I was looking through pinterest for recipes for my daughter to try.
ReplyDeleteThank you so very much. This single dad of 2 little girls really appreciates all your HARD WORK in putting this together. I'm going to print out this little recipe booklet and get her a "real" easy bake over (w/ 100W bulb) for their birthday (which happens to be 2 days apart)...
ReplyDeleteYou Totally Rock!!!
Thank you! Sharing your site with my sister also.
ReplyDeleteYou are a gem to share your work. Thanks for the cookbook!
ReplyDeleteShopping online for Christmas. Just thought of easy bake mixes for granddaughter for oven she got 2 yrs. ago. All stores are sold out of mixes online (12/12)! There are quite a few new mixes- pizza and various cookies and cakes. I came across your book. PLEASE get recipes for the new items! All the stores sell them. There is 1 site that has some, but they're really expensive! Will download this book. Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK YOU!!! My daughter asked for an easy bake oven for Christmas. We have a nut and soy allergy in our family so the mixes are pretty much out of the question. I had intended to go online and create my own cookbook today, but I brought her to work with me and knew it was going to be challenging. I am so very very thankful that you shared your hard work. This mom really appreciates it. Merry Christmas and Bless You for your kindness and generosity.
ReplyDeleteThank you- I am sending my granddaughter what she wanted for her birthday- an easy bake oven. I am downloading, printing and binding your recipes to include, as a "gift" for our daughter and son-in-law, so they will have an alternative to the expensive refills.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing all of your work with everyone. I was delighted to find your cookbook on line and I have printed it to use. Thanks again.
ReplyDeleteSo generous of you to share! I will personalize and print it for my granddaughter, it will be a nice addition to the oven we got her for Christmas. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI just came across this searching for recipes for my son to try in his new oven, thank you so much for sharing!

ReplyDeleteHi there, I was hoping you could help me. I tried to open your compiled list of recipes. My phone read "documents not found, possibly deleted". Could you please tell me if you have another link to them or the list of the recipes still. Thank you for any help you may give.
