I gave her this recipe book for Christmas.
Here are the details: I designed the cover with a freebie scrap kit from shabbyprincess.com (as a side note if you would like to learn more about digital scrapbooking visit my friend Alison's blog here) and then I slipped it into a half-sized view binder that I ordered site to store at staples.com. I had trouble finding the half-sheet page protectors so I ordered them online at keepfiling.com. They are 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 sized. I ordered $30 worth of products so I would not have to pay shipping...Super Mommies rarely pay for shipping!! I found my recipes at Momsview, Chowhound, and Cdkitchen to name a few. You can download my compiled recipe pages here. I tried to keep them formatted landscape with two columns but I dont know how to preserve that when uploading to google docs. Anyone downloading will have to redo that part, I guess.
The Verdict: She loves it. I had read that the made from scratch recipes wouldn't work because the real mixes have some kind of "plaster" type ingredient but the ones we have tried work great! Her 9 year old brother, Tate helps her read and measure the ingredients and they have a great time baking together.

Thank you so much for sharing this cookbook. My daughter got an Easy Bake oven for Christmas 2 years ago, and she hardly ever uses it because the mixes are so expensive! Now, with this cookbook, she can use it all of the time. She will love it! I found this just in time for Easter. Thank you again.
ReplyDeleteGood idea with the Cookbook..I find also that you can use a cake mix from the store as well...You can get alot of cakes with one mix..Also you can use brownie mixes, muffin mixes..Whatever you heart desires..My daughter loved making pizzas with her easy bake..You can also use the small pans in your big oven too..Great blog with awesome ideas!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great idea. I can't wait until my daughter gets big enough for an Easy Bake oven. I'd like to link to this post on a future sharing post of mine.

ReplyDeleteCan these be used in the small basic easy bake oven? I'd love to make it for my niece. But I don't want to ruin her oven.
ReplyDeleteSuper mom?
