Four Fun Ways to Reuse Old Jeans!

Here are a few more fun ideas to
Re-Use Old Jeans!

Super Mommies, Teacher Appreciation and Mothers Day are just around the corner!  These are perfect projects to make as gifts while teaching the kiddos to be Earth Friendly this Earth Day~ReUse!

Don't forget to check out the Instant Button Giveaway  for those jeans that dont fit
quite right but you still love much you dont want to turn them into something new [yet]!

Here are Jen's Ideas [my super mommy sister-in-law who contributes but doesn't blog yet!]:

The Pocket~ Jen just cut a back pocket off of the jeans (leave the back of the pants on when you cut so you have a full pocket to hold the treats).  Then hand sew the ribbon knots onto the pocket.  Hot glue on some embellishments...like flowers and jewels.  Stuff it with some goodies and a note that says "A Pocket Full of Wishes from [child's name] to You!" and you are done!  Isnt it cute and easy to do?

The Purse~  This one was a birthday gift to Jen from our friend Heather.  Isnt this purse adorable?  She even lined it with corduroy, sewed real beads on, and stitched Jen's initials onto the front.  You can make it as simple or as detailed as you want.  See her fabulous tutorial on her blog here or her inspiration here.

Here are my Ideas:

Gram's Purse~ Grams made this for my neice at Christmas when she made the Denim Aprons.  It is another version of a Denim purse.  You can make it from the leg of jeans or the arm of a jean jacket.  Use the side with the hem for the opening and sew the bottom closed with a little zig-zag.  Then fringe the edge and tie on a leather cord for the strap!

I Spy Bag~ When I went to make this about 5 years ago, I didnt want to go to the store for fabric so I cut up some of my old jeans.  They are sturdy enough that the toys inside wont poke holes or wear through.  I used some cute ribbon that my friend, Missy, had to bind it.  You could just sew the bag up and use pinking shears on the edges.  Plain bean bags would be cute made with jeans as well.

  1. Interesting!

When it comes to men’s clothing the first thought which sparks in my mind is designer jeans. Anything will be suitable with designer jeans might be tees, shirts, jackets or blazers. Men in designer jeans look cool and handsome!

  2. Very interesting.
Here I give other idea while you are teaching the kiddos to be Earth Friendly
You can give and get stuff they no longer need or to get what they need and don´t have, donating or getting it for reuse, achieving longer product cycle and also keeping useful stuff out of landfills.

  9. Hi! Quick question that's entirely off topic. Do you know how to make your site mobile friendly? My website looks weird when viewing from my iphone4. I'm trying to find a template or plugin that might be able to resolve
this issue. If you have any recommendations, please share. With thanks!
